The Jim Sutton Institute of Guitar International Correspondence Guitar School provides instructor supported distance learning of acoustic and electric guitar via courses and customized supplementary studies which are graduated in difficulty from beginning through professional levels. Courses range from a beginning and intermediate course titled Moving Toward Great Guitar Playing Course to the more advanced courses titled Music Theory Course for Guitar Players and Modal and Solo Composition Course for Guitar Players. There are also a variety of studies, (Supplementary Lessons,) available such as theBlues Lead Guitar Series, Country Lead Guitar Series, Fingerstyle Guitar Series, Ear Training for Guitar Players Series, Reading Notation Series, Transcriptions, Rhythm Studies, Technique and Speed Drills Studies, Jazz Guitar Studies , Christian Praise Series, individualized requested studies, etc..
A curriculum can be designed for each student whether they play professionally or for their own pleasure. Students work closely with the school administration to customize a program of studies that fit the individual student’s interests and goals.
The Jim Sutton Institute of Guitar was founded in 1984. It is a school featuring private and correspondence guitar instruction.
Students worldwide, from Europe, Canada, Malaysia, Caribbean, Africa, Scandinavia, Asia, Mexico, etc., as well as throughout the United States, currently enjoy correspondence courses and studies offered through the institute.
